Tutorial: How to update the Xperia X10 to the Android 2.1

The family of Xperia handsets recently won the update of Android. Owners of these smartphones can already perform proceedings that installs the Eclair (2.1) operating system from Google.

Aimming  help users update the Xperia devices, SE published on the Internet a video showing the step by step how to perform the upgrade.

 Step by step:

1. You need to install the latest version of PC Companion application on your computer. To do this, go to that page, choose your device and then click on the download options. Download the application and install it on your PC.
2. Open the PC Companion and turn on the Xperia X10 computer via USB.
3. The PC Companion will recognize that there is an update available for your smartphone and will offer this facility. Before you install properly, the application will backup the contents of the device (contacts, messages, music, videos, bookmarks, applications and settings from Android Market Android). 
4. Once the backup has been done, the PC Companion will allow the installation of the Android 2.1. It is important to follow the onscreen instructions. 
5. Android 2.1 installed, the user must first login with your username and password of your Google Account, and only then perform the restore procedure.  

Updating the Android 1.6 Android 2.1 requires a series of steps, but in the end user's Xperia X10 traditional Xperia Xperia X10 X10 Mini or Mini Pro will have a more complete system and improved performance.
